This year marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when thousands of Allied troops, among them some 14,000 Canadian soldiers, stormed the beaches in the Allied invasion of Normandy during the Second World War. Cobourg Media honours the courageous men and women of the Canadian Forces with a special documentary, JUNO REMEMBERED – THE 75th ANNIVERSARY, premiering Friday, November 8, beginning at 8 p.m. on Facebook.

The Cobourg Media special anchored by Executive Producer Graham Beer will recap the Juno Beach and D-Day Commemorations in France, including unforgettable Veteran stories and interviews.

Cobourg Media will tell the story of WWII Veteran Stan Egerton and his fallen brothers who died during the Second World War. The Toronto Scottish Regiment returns to the Bény-Sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery to visit the headstone of his brother George.

We give you exclusive access to the Juno Beach Centre Association Gala in Caen France. We hear from honorary guests, including the Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, Canadian Armed Forces General Jonathan Vance, Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan, D-Day Veterans and other dignitaries.

Plus, Graham returns to Vimy Ridge to highlight the commemoration and unveiling of the George Vari Hall plaque with Helen Vari at the Vimy Education Centre.

The special will conclude with a unique performance by the Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums.

“I will never forget the powerful and emotional experience looking out to the beach on June 6, imagining the brutality and sacrifice of our Canadian Military. It was an extraordinary trip and experience to capture the stories of Canada’s fallen and honouring the few still standing, said Graham Beer, Executive Producer of Cobourg Media. “I invite you to watch our special presentation leading up to Remembrance Day as we captivate the importance of remembering.”
