On Monday night, the newly elected Town of Cobourg Municipal Council for 2018-2022 took their oath of office at the Concert Hall at Victoria Hall.

The swearing in of the new council welcomed members including Mayor John Henderson, Deputy Mayor Suzanne Seguin, and Councillors Nicole Beatty, Aaron Burchat, Adam Bureau, Emily Chorely and Brian Darling.

During the Inaugural Ceremony, Mayor John Henderson announced the Council Coordinator appointments and the Advisory Committees and Local Board appointments. The coordinator roles for the 2018-2022 Municipal Council are as follows:

Economic Development (Mayor John Henderson), General Government Services (Deputy Mayor Suzanne Séguin), Planning and Development Services (Councillor Nicole Beatty), Protection Services (Councillor Aaron Burchat), Community Services (Councillor Adam Bureau), Parks and Recreation Services (Councillor Emily Chorley), Public Works Services (Councillor Brian Darling).

“Today marks a day of new leadership and the enhancement of civic dialogues come January 2019. I encourage you to become involved within our many advisory committees and local boards,” said Mayor Henderson during his inaugural speech.

This Cobourg municipal council will serve from now until 2022.
