Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford made a campaign stop in Cobourg on Wednesday, April 18 at 12 noon to emphasize debt reduction, job creation and lowering hydro rates.
Ford joined Northumberland-Peterborough South PC candidate David Piccini at the Cobourg Community Centre who met with over 300 people for a meet and greet.
The PC Leader also stopped at Lorenz Conveying Products announcing the fourth of his five priorities in his “Plan For the People of Ontario” to bring manufacturing jobs back to Ontario by cutting corporate taxes to 10.5 from 11.5 percent.
“The town of Cobourg is filled with hardworking, friendly people. David and I had such a good time meeting and talking to locals about issues that matter to them,” said Ford.
“I am pleased that so many people came out today to welcome Doug to Northumberland,” confirmed Piccini.
Northumberland Quinte West MPP, Lou Rinaldi on Wednesday was a little suspect why the local candidate and Doug Ford were scoping out all the great things happening in this community.
“I’m very worried that this visit to our community is nothing more than a phishing expedition to take inventory of all of the things that he may slash, things he may think are efficiencies,” said the current MPP.
