A CCI Interact Club tradition will return this Friday, February 23, 2018, at 4 to 6 pm, for its second annual Community Dinner. Last year Cobourg Collegiate Institute hosted over 100 community members who enjoyed a meal prepared by the culinary department in the school’s cafeteria.
This year, all food is purchased with donations from the local Rotary club, Foodland, No Frills, and Millstone Bakery and again prepared under Chef Carlos Andrade and his culinary students.
“The event is intended to be a warm meal during a cold time of the year and is open to all community members. We all eat together, it is not a handout –soup kitchen style of event, but rather, a chance for community members to eat together and have a conversation” said Brenna Clarke, teacher advisor for the Interact Club.
Earlier in the year, students of the Interact Club joined CCI in Halloween for Hunger, Me to We Day, Habitat for Humanity builds and Sleeping Children Around the World’s Sleep Day.
