Celebrate the season December 9, at 7:30 pm for the third annual Cobourg Media Christmas Special, in support of the Salvation Army and Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank. Cobourg Media founder and CCI Student Council Prime Minister Graham Beer has lined up the great hall at his school — Cobourg Collegiate Institute. The show includes Cale Crowe, Honey Soul, and the CCI Dance Team. General admission to the event is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and youth. For the past 2 years, Cobourg Media has raised over $5000 for local charities and community initiatives.

“Imagine all we have accomplished, donating, motivating but, most importantly, changing the lives of people who matter most to us. For the past 2 years, we have brought the community together to support very important causes in Cobourg. I extend an invitation to all in our community to come out and enjoy a great evening of local entertainment” said Graham Beer, Executive Producer of Cobourg Media.

The entertainment includes Cale Crowe, a well known local singer and songwriter from Alderville First Nations. His unique performances using little more than an acoustic guitar and effects pedals have given him the opportunity to perform across Canada alongside Scott Helman and Gentlemen Husbands. Cale connects with like-minded people worldwide singing a variety of well-known tracks and his own including, “Stars & Promises” and “If You Let Me”.

Honey Soul, a youth band from Cobourg brings an exciting and energetic blues-rock sound. The band features Raine Miller, Liam Woodward, Curtis Sisler and Ethan Hoekstra, all united by a mutual love of performing. Since the band’s creation in the spring of 2017, they have become a popular act at CCI events and now at local venues. They look forward to playing live shows while they work on growing their repertoire.

The CCI Dance Team is a squad of more than 25 dancers under the direction of CCI Dance Teacher, Loren Macklin. Beginning in 2016, the team has wowed students at local events such as “CCI For Change” and last years Christmas Special. Each dancer brings a unique experience as they compete in several competitions throughout the year.

Capt. Michael Simpson of the Salvation Army and Fare Share Northumberland Food Bank Executive Director Rick Riley are very grateful and excited about the special — and the amazing support from CCI staff and students. The school’s student council, Food Collective, and arts department have been a big part making it happen. The show will take place in the school’s new multi-purpose auditorium, which seats more than 500 people.

In addition, the show will stream on the Cobourg Media platforms on December 17, 2017 at 8 pm. The one hour TV special will also air on Cogeco’s YourTV Christmas Programming throughout December.
